Designer; Lavish Alice. Founded by graduates Lee Bloor and Matthew Lucian, this dynamic duo – who live and breathe their label – have created a trail-blazing brand
Why we love it; Lee and Matthew have dressed style icons including Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, so if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for us.
What makes them different; The structure of each garment looks, at first glance so simple, yet as you get to know Lavish Alice and its trademark style, its true uniqueness can’t be missed. Its chic, simplicity and occasional pops of colour makes it all the more appealing. And best of all owning Lavish Alice doesn’t have to break the bank!
Outing the haters and body shamers with a glamorous photo shoot is one way to metaphorically flick the ‘V’ at those who feel fashion should be compromised depending on our size and weight.
As a mum of three myself I must admit stripping down to my mere two piece and flaunting every bit of my flawed flesh, (which is now a lot more wobbly than it was pre-childbirth) for all to see, scares the hell out of me. Sharing my bedroom selfie in my bikini on a Facebook group with almost 34 thousand members, well that’s something I could only imagine happening in my worst nightmare!
…But that’s exactly what mum of two Stephanie Redmond did in a bid to empower other women, who like her, had faced the judging eyes of those around her, over her size 16 body. The staff at Frock the High Street loved Stephanie’s attitude so much, we invited her to come to our shop HQ and have a professional make-over, before a fabulous shoot in ‘Frock Fashion’.
And the results…I may as well let the pictures speak for themselves!
In Stephanie’s original bikini post she stated ‘I don’t think flashing my size 14/16 junk should really bother or hurt anyone else’ and we don’t either!
Stephanie has a confidence that many women struggle to have these days, with air brushed images and unrealistic goals set by the media, so we wanted to bottle it up and share it with all the ladies by doing this photo shoot, proving it really doesn’t matter how big or small, short or tall you are, we are all beautiful in our own way.
